The Western Digital WD Purple 3TB Surveillance Hard Drive (Model: WD33PURZ) is specifically engineered for the demanding requirements of 24x7 video surveillance systems. Constructed to withstand elevated heat fluctuations and vibrations common in Network Video Recorder (NVR) environments, this drive delivers reliable, always-on performance.

Featuring WD’s exclusive AllFrame™ technology, it minimizes video frame loss and enhances playback reliability by optimizing write-intensive, low bit-rate, and high stream-count workloads typical to mainstream surveillance systems. The WD Purple 3TB HDD supports up to 64 HD cameras and is compatible with multi-bay environments of up to 16 drive bays.

Designed with a conventional magnetic recording (CMR) mechanism, it provides a large 3TB capacity in a 3.5-inch form factor with a SATA interface and a 256MB cache to maintain high transfer speeds up to 175 MB/s. Its robust 180 TB/year workload rating ensures long-term durability in heavy-write surveillance scenarios.

Operating reliably across a broad temperature range (0°C to 65°C), it is certified for global compliance including CE, FCC, UL, and TÜV, among others. Western Digital backs this product with a 3-year limited warranty, making it an ideal choice to safeguard your video surveillance data assets.
