The advanced ISR runs on a Mediatek MIPS 24KEc CPU at 580 MHz, complemented by 128 MB DDR2 RAM and 16 MB SPI flash storage for reliable, high-performance operation.

Powered by RutOS, an OpenWrt-based Linux distribution, it offers an extensive feature set including Web UI, SSH access, FOTA updates, TR-069, SNMP v1/v2/v3, MQTT, JSON-RPC, and remote management via Teltonika RMS. It integrates seamlessly with major IoT platforms like Azure IoT Hub, AWS IoT Core, Cumulocity, and ThingWorx.

The RUT956 supports multiple industrial IO applications with configurable digital and analog inputs and outputs, relay and open collector outputs, and serial-over-IP capabilities for versatile device control.

Designed for tough conditions, it operates reliably in temperatures from -40 °C to +75 °C with an IP30 ingress protection rating. Industrial-grade power supply includes 9–30 VDC input with reverse polarity and surge protection, plus passive PoE support over spare pairs on LAN1.
